MALAYSIA: The Malaysian authorities are investigating an incident involving a senior citizen who brandished a pistol in a public place near Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, Cheras, Selangor, on the morning of 19 March.

The man reportedly intervened when a car repossessor attempted to repossess his daughter’s vehicle, which was believed to be behind on loan repayments.

The 60-year-old man obstructed the repossessor, claiming they could not provide the necessary bank documents and police reports regarding the alleged overdue payments.

The suspect also denied that his daughter’s car had any outstanding payments with the bank.

This disagreement escalated, resulting in the man pulling out a pistol and chasing the car repossessor and his colleague away.

Kajang District Police Chief stated that both parties involved had filed police reports.

It was also clarified that the senior citizen has a valid firearm license, which has been confiscated by the police.

A video of the incident, initially posted by the car repossessor, has been circulating on the internet, grabbing the interest of netizens and being shared by various other social media accounts.

The police are conducting an investigation into the matter under Section 506 of the Penal Code, which pertains to criminal intimidation.
