Four arrested after car and school bus collision on Bukit Timah, students and passengers injured
Singaporean authorities arrested four individuals after a car collided with a school bus on Bukit Timah Road. Two students and passengers were injured, with footage of the aftermath of the accident circulating online.
SINGAPORE: Singaporean authorities arrested four individuals following a collision between a car and a school bus on 6 March along Bukit Timah Road.
This incident led to injuries for two students on the school bus, as well as the car’s driver and three passengers.
After paramedics evaluated the students at the scene, two were picked up by their parents, while the other two sustained minor injuries.
All six involved parties were subsequently taken to hospitals for treatment.
After the accident, officers managed to rescue two passengers from the burning car.
The passengers, a 32-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man, and a 22-year-old man, were all arrested for traffic-related offenses, according to The Straits Times.
Additionally, the 26-year-old male driver of the car was arrested for failing to provide a breath specimen.
Reports later confirmed that the bus was transporting four students from Anglo-Chinese School (Junior), or ACS (Junior), at the time of the collision.
In response to queries, Cheryl Chee, the principal of ACS (Junior), stated that the two injured students have since been discharged from the hospital.
Police investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
Clips and pictures of accident scenes goes viral online
The aftermath of the accident spread across social media platforms, with videos and images being widely shared.
These visuals depicted the severe damage to the front of the bus, which lost its front axle and had its front door detached, scattering debris across the road.
Additionally, one video showed a knocked-down street light while nearby, a car was engulfed in flames.
