Two-year-old Malaysian boy found deceased after reported fall into drain during heavy rain
The body of a two-year-old Malaysian boy, missing in Melaka after falling into a drain during heavy rain on Saturday, was found a day later.
His mother revealed he vanished while playing near a 1.2-meter drain behind her stall with his four-year-old brother.

MELAKA, MALAYSIA: The body of a two-year-old Malaysian boy, who went missing after reportedly falling into a drain during heavy rain on 25 November, was discovered a day later by a couple in Taman Desa Baru, about 1.3 km away from the incident site.
The couple, moved by the distressing news, decided to help locate the child.
The discovery, made at 9.20 am on Sunday (26 Nov), brought a tragic end to the search effort.
Melaka Fire and Rescue Department’s Zone One officer, Superintendent Zulkhairani Ramli, reported that no injuries were observed on the victim’s body.
The body was subsequently handed over to the police for further action.
The two-year-old child goes missing while the mother is attending to a customer
According to The Star, the child’s mother recounted that her two-year-old son disappeared while playing with his four-year-old brother near a 1.2-meter drain behind her nasi kerabu stall.
She reported that her son disappeared at 3.25 pm on a rainy Saturday.
Despite instructing her sons to stay away from the drain, both went missing while she attended to a customer.
Concerned, her husband filed a police report at 3.40 pm when their son couldn’t be found, and his slippers were discovered near the drain.
Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit confirmed the launch of a search and rescue operation, involving the Melaka Fire and Rescue Department, to locate the missing child.
Videos of the search and rescue operation go viral on the internet as netizens express sympathy and condolences to the grieving family
An account, under the name “hanimkurus,” shared videos and updates of the operation, showing efforts both during the day and at night, involving the fire and rescue department submerging themselves into the drain water.
The final video shared by the account revealed the heartbreaking discovery of the child’s body.
Netizens flooded the comment section with expressions of sympathy and condolences for the bereaved family.
