SINGAPORE:  In a jubilant celebration of Queenstown’s 70th anniversary since its inauguration, the Queenstown Constituency, in collaboration with marketing agency DSTNCT, is announcing its first-ever Queenstown HawkerFest 2023.

This culinary extravaganza is set to take place from Nov 18 to Dec 17, 2023, promising a month of gastronomic delights and cultural immersion.

This unique event will provide an opportunity for residents and visitors to explore Queenstown from a fresh culinary perspective.

Queenstown HawkerFest 2023

From savoring the rich and diverse hawker delights that hold stories of the neighborhood’s heritage to witnessing groundbreaking records and indulging in timeless hawker classics reimagined by creative culinary minds, Queenstown HawkerFest is set to be a memorable experience.

Under the theme of ‘Savouring Legacies with Every Bite,’ this event will celebrate the inspiring legacies of Queenstown while creating new chapters in its history.

The grand opening ceremony of Queenstown HawkerFest, scheduled for Nov 18, will be graced by the presence of Mr Eric Chua, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Culture, Community, and Youth of Singapore and Adviser to the Tanjong Pagar GRC Grassroots Organisation (Queenstown).

The Queenstown HawkerFest 2023 has unveiled an exciting schedule of events, offering a delightful mix of culinary challenges and celebrations that promise to make this an unforgettable experience for all attendees.

Hawker Fest Opening Ceremony (11:00 am – 11:15 am): 

The festivities commence with the distinguished presence of Mr Eric Chua.

Mr Chua’s opening speech sets the stage for the official launch of QT HawkerFest, marking the start of a month-long celebration of Queenstown’s rich culinary heritage.

Record-breaking Segment and Ceremony (11:15 am – 11:30 am): 

Prepare to be amazed as the event presents a record-breaking spectacle.

The Largest Plate of Chicken Rice in Singapore will be unveiled on stage, a feat that will be honoured with the awarding of a record by the Singapore Book of Records.

It’s a moment of culinary history in the making.

Chicken Chowdown (11:30 am – 12:10 pm): 

The excitement continues as Zermatt Neo, a well-known competitive eater takes on the extraordinary challenge of conquering the largest plate of Chicken Rice in Singapore.

This feat promises to be a thrilling spectacle, showcasing remarkable culinary prowess.

Speed-Eating Challenge (12:10 pm – 12:50 pm): 

The fest takes on a competitive edge with the commencement of preliminary rounds for a speed-eating challenge. Participants from the public will vie for the title of the fastest eater.

The final round will determine the champion, and a grand prize worth up to $700 will be presented to the swiftest contestant.

Wrap up of QT HawkerFest launch (12:50 pm – 1:00 pm): 

As the clock approaches 1:00 pm, the fest will conclude its celebration that has showcased the culinary diversity and rich heritage of Queenstown.

Moreover, in a heartfelt display of community spirit, the Queenstown Hawker Task Force will distribute over 700 packets of Chicken Rice over a span of 10 days to lower-income families and individuals in the estate, adding a touch of compassion to this exciting celebration.
