The Siam Paragon shopping mall in central Bangkok was evacuated on Tuesday (Oct 3) evening due to an active shooter incident.

Thai police stated that the suspect, believed to be armed, remained inside the building.

Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin confirmed that a shooting had taken place on Tuesday, with witnesses reporting people fleeing the scene. He is reportedly en route to the location.

The premier told reporters that he did not have information about any casualties at this time.

Update: At least four individuals have been confirmed dead with several others wounded.

The Thai police arrested the 14-year-old suspected gunman responsible for the attack.

Addressing the situation, Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin announced, “The attacker was arrested. In fact, he surrendered. Police are clearing the scene. The situation is easing.”
