UNITED STATES: The physical toll of age may lead to weariness, making one feel drained more easily.

Yet, there exist pioneers who have shattered the misconception that age serves as a barrier to pursuing one’s passions.

Meet Everett Kalin, a retired theology professor who defied expectations and conquered the majestic rocky heights of Yosemite Half Dome at the remarkable age of 93.

Scaling the soaring mountains that kiss the sky at an altitude of 2,694 meters above sea level, this venerable grandfather became an emblem of inspiration.

In preparation for this extraordinary feat, Kalin dedicated months to rigorous training.

Ascending the rocky slopes, the climbers traversed 4800 feet of elevation, passing breathtaking highlights like Vernal Fall and Nevada Fall.

The ascent was made possible by steel cable handrails and sturdy wooden planks, guiding them across the daunting granite dome.

Upon reaching the summit, a chorus of cheers greeted the triumphant trio from the many fellow hikers they had encountered along the way.

In a candid conversation with SFGATE, Kalin humbly expressed his gratitude to those who supported his journey, saying, “I just feel so grateful to the people that made it possible. I’m actually feeling great.”
