Decomposed body of unidentified man found near Republic Polytechnic, Singapore
A remains of an unidentified 49-year-old man were discovered in an advanced state of decomposition outside Republic Polytechnic’s premises last Saturday (19 Aug). Police investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
SINGAPORE: A severely decomposed remains of a 49-year-old man were discovered outside the premises of Republic Polytechnic (RP) last Saturday (19 Aug).
Law enforcement received notification of an unnatural death case at 7 Woodlands Avenue 9 around 2:45 pm on the same day.
According to Singaporean media outlet The Straits Times, an RP spokesperson clarified that the individual was not connected to the school’s community.
Initial findings from the police indicate that there is no suspicion of foul play.
Photographs published on the online news platform Stomp depict the body situated at the base of a grassy incline adjacent to a fence.
Additional images display seven police officers, donned in gloves and masks, positioned at the top of the incline, a distance away from where the body was located.
As per an eyewitness account shared with Stomp, landscaping workers stumbled upon the body and promptly alerted the authorities.
A portion of the grassy area was cordoned off for a few hours as investigative procedures were conducted, according to a report by Stomp.
By 6.30 pm, the body had been removed.
The eyewitness informed Stomp that closed-circuit television footage captured the man on the slope on 2 August.
Ongoing investigations by the police are currently underway.
