Tragedy struck as an LTA officer lost his life while in pursuit of a motorcyclist, resulting in a fatal accident. The motorcyclist, believed to be 18 years old, now faces serious charges including drug-related offenses and driving violations.
In a devastating turn of events, a Land Transport Authority (LTA) enforcement officer tragically lost his life in the line of duty along the expressways on the morning of 4 June while in pursuit of a motorcyclist attempting to evade the law.
According to the Singapore Police, the fatal accident occurred at approximately 10:40 am, involving a motorcycle, two lorries, and a van along the route from SLE towards BKE near the TPE exit.
The LTA officer, identified as Mr Zdulfika Bin Ahakasah, was riding the motorcycle and was conveyed to the hospital following the collision, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
“An LTA enforcement officer who was riding the motorcycle was conveyed to the hospital where he subsequently passed away,” confirmed the police.
Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of an 18-year-old man believed to be the motorcyclist the officer was pursuing. The suspect faces charges related to suspected drug offences, possession of scheduled weapons, and various driving-related offences, as confirmed by the police.
In a poignant Facebook post on Tuesday evening, the LTA expressed profound sorrow over the loss of Mr Zdulfika, describing him as a valued member of their enforcement team.
“We are deeply saddened that our enforcement officer Mr Zdulfika Bin Ahakasah passed on in a fatal accident this morning. He is a valued member of our enforcement team,” read the post. “Zdulfika was trying to stop an errant motorcyclist when the accident happened.”
Footage of the incident, circulated on SG Road Vigilante – SGRV Facebook page, captured the harrowing moments leading to the officer’s demise.
The video depicted Mr Zdulfika in pursuit of the motorcyclist along the shoulder lane near an expressway exit. Tragically, the pursuit ended in catastrophe as the motorcyclist abruptly swerved into the path of a lorry, prompting the fatal collision.
The video showcased the officer’s valiant effort to maintain pursuit before crashing his motorcycle into a road divider; his body flung into the air.
Senior Assistant Commissioner Daniel Tan, Commander of Traffic Police, expressed condolences over the tragic loss, emphasizing the officer’s unwavering commitment to road safety. “This was a tragic loss of life of a fellow law enforcer who died while executing his duty to keep our roads safe,” he said. “The police will investigate this matter thoroughly, and ensure that those responsible face the full brunt of the law.”
Yishun MP will pass more legislation which doesn’t reduce drug taking on the ground or the resulting increasing consequences. We need a new Law Minister who is able to successfully secure our borders from incoming drugs and criminals. The present one can sit in Ridout counting LKY’S second son’s monies.

In SG, penalties for traffic offences are just too light so majority are just ignorance and keep on repeating such offences.
From drink driving to hit-and-run, speeding to dashing across red light and causing accidents, including fatal accidents, sentencing are just too light.
Have the decades of “education” helps? No, but we are seeing more people who faced driving suspension still dare to go on driving without license and insurance
