Man drags girlfriend into pool in violent quarrel in Malaysia
A foreign couple’s argument near a pool at a condominium in Sunway City escalated as the boyfriend violently dragged his girlfriend by her hair into the water. Despite this, she chose not to press charges, according to Malaysian authorities.
MALAYSIA: A video depicting a man forcefully dragging a woman by her hair into a swimming pool in Malaysia recently went viral, sparking widespread outrage.
The incident, which occurred at the D’Latour Condominium in Sunway City, Selangor, around 3 pm on 15 February, gained significant attention after being shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on 16 February, amassing over 1.5 million views.
Subang Jaya police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat confirmed that the individuals involved were a foreign couple.
Despite the alarming nature of the video, Wan Azlan stated that the woman had opted not to pursue further legal action against her boyfriend.
Consequently, no formal investigation would be conducted by the authorities.
The footage captured a heated altercation between the couple beside the pool, culminating in the man violently dragging the woman into the water by her hair.
Subsequently, there appeared to be an attempt to submerge her head underwater.
Fortunately, the woman did not sustain any physical injuries and declined medical attention.
A comment on the X post alleged that the altercation arose from a disagreement between the man and his girlfriend regarding her pregnancy, as she reportedly refused to terminate it.

The comment claimed to have a friend who witnessed the event and intervened before security guards arrived.
However, the girlfriend later defended her boyfriend and requested the guards to leave them alone.
The video sparked outrage among netizens, condemning the man’s violent behaviour towards his girlfriend.
