Car plunges into Bukit Batok canal, 25-year-old driver hospitalised
A 25-year-old man was hospitalized in Bukit Batok after his car skidded into a canal. The incident occurred near HomeTeamNS shortly after 9 am on Wednesday (16 Aug). The vehicle, believed to have self-skidded, was found on Bukit Batok Street 32. Rescuers and emergency vehicles responded to the scene where the overturned car was eventually towed out. The conscious driver received medical care, and investigations are ongoing.
SINGAPORE: On Wednesday morning (August 16), a 25-year-old man was admitted to the hospital following his car skidding and entering a canal in Bukit Batok.
The accident transpired just outside HomeTeamNS Bukit Batok shortly after 9 am.
According to a report by Singapore media outlet Stomp, the police received an alert about the accident at around 9.35 am.
The vehicle, which is believed to have skidded on its own, was located along Bukit Batok Street 32.
Captured in a shared video, a black car lay overturned in the canal, surrounded by responding rescuers and emergency vehicles.
Swift action was taken to extract the car from the canal, and it was subsequently connected to a tow truck for removal.
Miraculously, the driver remained conscious and was transported to the hospital for medical attention.
