SINGAPORE: The Signature of Imran Group has donated S$16,000 (US$12,286) to Love Aid Singapore to support relief efforts in Gaza.

This contribution reflects the group’s commitment to humanitarian causes.

The Signature of Imran Group includes various subsidiaries, such as IM Volunteers Network SG, which aims to inspire and promote youth volunteerism through impactful community initiatives.

The announcement was made by Gilbert Goh, the Singaporean activist and founder of Love Aid Singapore, through the organization’s Instagram on Monday (26 Aug).

The donation ceremony, held on Sunday (25 Aug) featured a brief presentation on Love Aid Singapore’s relief work.

The presentation, delivered by Andrea, a representative from the organization, used PowerPoint to highlight their ongoing efforts.

Initially, the group had planned to donate S$8,000 (US$6,143), but the contribution was increased to S$16,000, underscoring the urgency of the situation amid declining charitable donations.

Despite the ongoing challenges and chronic donation fatigue resulting from the prolonged Gaza conflict, the ceremony was successful.

Local representatives Andrea and Ameen, who have been volunteering behind the scenes by translating Arabic videos into English subtitles, represented the organization in the absence of Gilbert Goh, who is currently in Cairo.

Love Aid Singapore continues to seek support for their Gaza Aid fund.

Donations can be made via PayNow at 87745281.

Goh expressed gratitude to the Singaporean community for their continued support, stating, “No donation is too small if it’s done from the heart.”

Humanitarian crisis intensifies in Gaza amid ongoing Israeli assault

The humanitarian situation in Gaza has deteriorated sharply due to the relentless Israeli assault on Palestine since 7 October.

According to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification, famine is imminent, with 1.1 million people—half of Gaza’s population—experiencing catastrophic food insecurity.

Communicable diseases are surging as restrictions on fuel supplies have drastically diminished access to water, sanitation, hygiene, and health services.

Additionally, around 1.9 million people in Gaza are now internally displaced.

In August alone, UNRWA reported that Israeli authorities issued 12 evacuation orders, affecting approximately 250,000 people.

Families are frequently displaced, carrying only essential belongings amid ongoing military operations.

The ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of over 40,400 Palestinians and injuries to more than 93,000 individuals, many of whom are women and children, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
