Casio unveils TRN-50: 50th anniversary tribute watch

SINGAPORE:  Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has introduced the TRN-50, a new watch honoring the iconic Casiotron QW02, the pioneer of digital watches with an automatic calendar.

This release celebrates 50 years of Casio watches, highlighting the brand’s dedication to innovative timekeeping.

Casio originally released the Casiotron in 1974, introducing a digital watch seamlessly integrating an automatic calendar function with precision timekeeping.

The all-new TRN-50 pays homage to the groundbreaking original while incorporating today’s cutting-edge technology.

With a meticulous reproduction of the original design, both in look and size, the external diameter is essentially the same at 39.1mm. Additionally, the profile measures 0.3mm slimmer.

The TRN-50 is crafted in a limited edition of 4,000 pieces worldwide, and comes with a unique engraved serial number (ranging from 0001/4000 to 4000/4000), underscoring the rarity of these collectible watches.

Staying faithful to the original Casiotron design, the TRN-50 embraces contemporary features such as radio-controlled time adjustment, solar charging capabilities, and Mobile Link functionality for seamless smartphone integration.

Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the TRN-50 recreates the aesthetic allure of its predecessor, from the sophisticated textures of the case and band to the iconic dark blue face adorned with the CASIOTRON logo.

Similarly, the case back showcases the identical symbol found on the original, with slight modifications made to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Casio watches.

Practicality meets innovation in the TRN-50 with its super-twisted nematic (STN) LCD for enhanced readability and Tough Solar charging system for sustainable energy efficiency.

Moreover, the watch ensures precise timekeeping by receiving time calibration signals from six stations worldwide and offers Mobile Link connectivity for seamless synchronization with smartphones.
