A heartbreaking collision: The tale of a motorist’s unfortunate timing amidst Selangor jet crash

MALAYSIA: On 17 August, a tragic incident unfolded in Selangor, Malaysia, as a private jet carrying eight individuals crashed onto a highway.
The devastating accident resulted in the loss of 10 lives, including two motorists who were unfortunate enough to be on the road at that moment.
One of these motorists, identified as a delivery rider in his 30s, had been riding his motorcycle on the highway.
He had plans to return to his hometown the following week to attend a family wedding, making the circumstances even more heart-wrenching.
A cousin of the delivery rider, who took to Facebook under the name Nurul Nazihah, shared a poignant post on the evening of August 17th.
In the post, she mourned the loss of her cousin and shared a photograph of him, depicting him wearing a black T-shirt and sunglasses.
She expressed her deep sorrow and mentioned that she couldn’t fathom the pain of realizing her own cousin was involved in the tragic accident.
The victim was identified as Muhamad Hafiz Muhamad Salleh, a 32-year-old food delivery rider from Sungai Petani, Kedah.
He happened to be on the Guthrie Highway near Elmina, Shah Alam, when the private jet crashed onto the road at approximately 2:40 pm.
The private jet was carrying six passengers, including Pelangai assemblyman Johari Harun, as well as its two pilots.
The tragic incident claimed the lives of all individuals on board the aircraft, along with Mr. Muhamad Hafiz and another individual who was in a car on the highway.
Nurul Nazihah shared that she had witnessed a distressing video showing the burning body of one of the motorists around 4 pm on that fateful day.
The realization that her own cousin was among the victims came later, after sunset prayers, when the police informed Mr. Muhamad Hafiz’s mother about the tragic news.
Tragically, Muhamad Hafiz was planning to return to his hometown to help with preparations for his sister’s wedding, which was scheduled for August 26th.
After the necessary procedures, his body will be brought home and laid to rest at Taman Sidam Kiri.
The private jet crashes on Malaysia highway
The crash itself occurred around 2:40 pm near Elmina in Shah Alam, Selangor.
The incident involved a Beechcraft Model 390 aircraft operated by Jet Valet Sdn Bhd.
The aircraft had taken off from Langkawi International Airport and was scheduled to land at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang at 2:40 pm.
Tragically, the aircraft crashed shortly after air traffic control cleared it for landing, leading to the loss of all eight individuals on board, as well as two individuals in a car and on a motorcycle on the highway.
The bodies of the victims have been transported to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang for autopsy purposes.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) confirmed the incident and revealed that there were no mayday calls from the aircraft before the crash.
